Selangor FC are delighted to announce the signing of experienced Malaysian midfielder Azam Azih, who becomes the club's second domestic signing ahead of the upcoming Malaysia League season.

The 31-year-old arrives at the Red Giants after spending over a decade with Sri Pahang FC, where he established himself as one of the country's most accomplished midfielders. Since making his breakthrough in 2015, Azam has built a reputation for his composure, leadership and exceptional understanding of the game, qualities that are expected to add significant value to Kim Pan-gon's squad.

Renowned for his outstanding technical ability, composure in possession and excellent passing range, Azam is a midfielder capable of dictating the tempo of a match while contributing effectively in both attacking and defensive phases. His arrival is expected to further strengthen Selangor FC's midfield ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking on the club's latest signing, Head Coach Kim Pan-gon described Azam as one of the finest technical midfielders Malaysia has produced.

"For me, Azam is one of the most technically gifted midfielders Malaysian football has ever produced. He has an excellent understanding of the game, controls the tempo exceptionally well, possesses outstanding passing and distribution, and is able to connect every phase of play effectively. He contributes not only in attack but is also disciplined defensively. We need experienced players like Azam because they bring stability and composure to the team. Our philosophy is to dominate every match, and I believe Azam will play a key role in helping us control the midfield and implement the style of football we want to play."

Throughout his career, Azam has consistently proven himself as one of the Malaysia Super League's most reliable midfielders. He has also represented the Malaysian national team on the international stage, earning 24 caps for Harimau Malaya.

Speaking after completing his move to Shah Alam, Azam described joining the Red Giants as one of the proudest moments of his career.
